Not long at all, at Next Step, we are staffed to start your treatment, or your child’s treatment right away. We have same week and sometimes next day appointments available. Like most places, you will need to complete some simple paperwork prior to being seen. We want to make this process simple and convenient for you, so you get the help you need, when you need it.

Yes, we are happy to help you make this transition. People can switch providers for a variety of reasons. We find that people come to Next Step due to our genuine, competent and caring professionals, to bring their treatment all under one roof and/or to receive more robust care than they can currently access. We make it simple, easy and convenient to onboard with Next Step. We also provide one-on-one therapy for clients who feel like they need additional care above and beyond our comprehensive ADHD treatment program.

Yes, we do take into consideration your previous diagnosis during your initial evaluation. You will still receive an initial intake evaluation with a Next Step professional. Each individual’s situation is unique, so please call or fill out a contact form to find out more.

Yes, we offer several services to help you and your child thrive at school. Our programs and services vary depending on your needs. We are able to help you through the entire life-cycle of your child’s education, from K-12 to College or University students.

Absolutely! We understand, ADHD often runs in families. We have the right team to treat any member of your family. You can also save time and money by having all of your treatment under one roof. Give us a call and we would be happy to discuss your family’s needs.

We can and do treat all mental health issues. If you need to be treated for other mental health issues, or if we determine there might be other issues that take priority, we can treat you at Next Step 2 Mental Health, or offer you referrals. Yes.  Medication is often the first line of treatment for ADHD. It’s effective and can be life changing. However, medication alone is not enough.  The combination of our 5 core components, which includes medication, is what will improve your quality of life.  We provide our clients with a thorough assessment to evaluate their ADHD before prescribing medication.

Yes. APRNs and Nurse Practitioners can prescribe medication.  Our Nurse Practitioners are specialized in the treatment of ADHD.

Yes. We do have the resources to provide testing, if we see this as something that is needed. We are also happy to provide this service, as well as testing for learning disorders, at a discounted rate for our members.

Yes.  We do have the resources to provide testing, if we see this as something that is needed.  We are happy to provide this service. We can also test for additional learning disorders as well as conduct full Psychological Testing. However, we escalate these services as the need presents itself. We don’t believe in charging you for a full Psychological Test unless it is necessary to complete an accurate diagnosis.

Yes. We can conduct full Psychological Testing. This type of testing is often required by schools to determine a diagnosis of ADHD and/or other learning differences. First, we assess the recommendation from the school, or healthcare provider, to determine where to begin the assessment. Sometimes we start with an ADHD assessment and sometimes a full Psychological Test is warranted. Our goal is to help you determine the right condition to treat, but also do so in an economical manner. Another benefit of choosing Next Step, is that we can treat the underlying condition, not just offer you a diagnosis. After waiting a long time to be seen at another practice and paying a large sum for a diagnosis, many of our clients tell us that they wish they would have started with Next Step first. As a ‘one stop shop’ for treatment, we can save you a lot of time and money.

We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid as a form of payment. However, we will be happy to refer to a Medicare/Medicaid provider.

We do not a participate with any managed care plan. There are many reasons we don’t, such as protecting your privacy and structuring treatment based on your needs rather than what insurance companies dictate. Our membership does provide discounts on all Next Step services, which can make obtaining quality treatment more affordable. Additionally, insurance does not cover coaching, which is a very important part of helping people manage ADHD. We are, however, happy to provide receipts to you for submission to your insurance company.

We believe the services we offer satisfy the IRS guidelines to be qualified medical expenses eligible for payment with funds from your HSA and/or FSA account.  The services are medically necessary to treat ADHD and we are happy to provide a letter of medical necessity upon your request.  However, for liability purposes, we do not make any assurances or representations regarding tax questions and recommend that you consult with your employer, HSA administrator, or qualified tax advisor for the appropriate guidance.
