Managing Mornings Without Meltdowns
Hi, I’m Dr. Kristi Briscoe.
Mornings are rough in most households—but for ADHD kids, the time pressure, transitions, and sensory overload can lead to tears (for everyone).
Here’s how to smooth them out:
- Prep the night before — Clothes out, lunch packed, backpack ready.
- Use a visual checklist — Let your child track each step.
- Avoid rushing language — Instead of “Hurry up!” try, “What’s next on your list?”
A calm morning often starts the night before.
