Homework Routines That Actually Work
Hi, I’m Dr. Kristi Briscoe.
Homework can feel like a battlefield—but it doesn’t have to. ADHD kids need structure, breaks, and support to succeed after school.
Try this:
- Set a consistent start time — After a snack and movement break.
- Use a timer to work in chunks — 10–15 minutes on, 5-minute break.
- Stay nearby (but not hovering) — A “body double” improves focus.
Homework success is about the environment, not just willpower.
