The Other 50%: ADHD Is More Than Medication
Hi, I’m Dr. Kristi Briscoe.
Medication can be a powerful tool for ADHD—but it’s not the whole picture. Kids also need structure, support, and relationship skills.
Here’s what helps:
- Create predictable routines — ADHD brains thrive on structure.
- Use visuals and external reminders — Don’t rely on memory alone.
- Coach emotional regulation — Talk through feelings, not just behaviors.
Medication helps balance the brain. But parenting strategies build the life skills.
